And rather than making their act flashy and grand to show off as much skill and tricks as possible, these two take things quite slow, in tune with string-music and plain lights, making their performances simply eerie, as if half of it was just an strange dream or from a land of mist and ghostly dancing.

Bio; Born as identical beings into a not too kind world it was only natural for the two twins Joey and Josephine to stay together for safety. With an alcoholic mother and an over-working father they were raised by their older brother Lucas, and had quite soon shaped their own version of how the world worked.
As a game they began to switch places, but in the end did this so often that they weren’t sure themselves who was who. They were one being, both responding to the same name; Jo.
When one wanted to do gymnastics the other discovered they loved it, when one liked a boy or a girl the other one did as well. When one wanted to wear a skirt the other did to, and when one decided to start skipping school the other joined along. When one grew longer hair the other did the same, and when one wanted to try the stuff their mom was drinking the other did the same. As they grew older they still matched their voices, way of walking and acting, even past their teens. When it became harder to remain identical they still did their best with clothes and by simply staying away from other people.

Even if they did not have the best of upbringing it was still not bad enough for people to react, and the traces of it was not easy to discover. But by the age of 12 they had already developed the same pathological liar-syndrome, in their own way of hiding, keep secrets and to gain sympathy.

The big turn-point for them came after one of their mother’s worst periods, after their younger sister was taken away from the family by social-workers. Afraid to be taken away as well and torn apart they began to stay away from both school and home more frequently, only confirming their own ideas about the world with what they saw then.
In the end they were left all alone as their older brother got taken to jail, what for they never bothered to find out. After their mother threw quite a tantrum about it (and threw a pan full of boiling water at Joey, leaving a burn-mark over big parts of his back and shoulders and forever making the twins separable) the two were left with no reason to stay at all, and thus they simply packed what they could carry, took what money they could find and got on the first bus they saw. Going as far as they could in that manner they continued to live in the simple lie they both loved. The fact that Lucas might want to find them again didn’t even seem to cross their mind…

How they in the end got separated is still unclear, as Josephine has told more than one story about it, and a pathological liar believes everything they say themselves. The tale of how  one twin found the circus and how they later were reunited keeps changing as well. And maybe they’d rather have it that way, but the sad fact still is that the time they spent away from each other, on in the circus and one in the town, made them both grow and change into slightly different characters…


Personality; Josephine is, as said, quite a liar, but doesn’t mean anything bad with it. Lying is simply a natural reaction to respond to others, more so than to tell the truth.

While staying in the circus Josephine slowly but steadily grew more and more lonely, as the lies from her weren’t appreciated and started to separate her from others. Why this happened she still doesn’t understand. So when she found her bother again she was more than happy and has now no intentions to let him get too far away. Once again it’s the two of them, and that all there will be. The two of them against the world.
